Washington State Primary Endorsements for August 19, 2008 Election
Updated
On: Aug 21, 2008 (13:51:00)
Each year at election time union officers and members volunteer their time to research electoral issues, review candidate surveys, conduct candidate interviews, and make recommendations to councils of elected delegates who then vote (usually in votes requiring a 2/3 majority) on whether to accept or reject those recommendations to endorse candidates running for public office.
Worker Freedom of Choice, Free Trade or Fair Trade, workplace safety and compensation for injured workers, unemployment benefits, and the cost ofhealth care are just a few ofthe issues those elected to pubic office will decide once elected.
Your elected union officers and staff encourage you to vote for the candidates below, each of whom convinced delegates to labor councils across our state that she or he will support the interests of working people if elected this fall.
Please review the pdf below for the full list of endorsements.
Thank you.
