Benzene Exposure Screenings-

           This letter is to update you as to the progress we are making in the Printing Industry.  We have been working with fellow GCIU Locals in Chicago, Maryland, Denver, St. Louis, and Corinth.  We have successfully screened many of their members and are actively working on filing lawsuits against the manufacturers of certain chemicals used in the printing industry, including Benzene and Trichloroethylene/Trichloroethythane.  We have medical evidence linking these chemicals with all forms of Leukemia and Peripheral Neuropathies.  As mentioned before, we have already met with and conducted screenings on hundreds of members in several GCIU Locals.  We would like to be able to set up screenings with all GCIU Locals in the future.

            In the meantime, if you have any members that have passed away as a result of ANY form of Leukemia, particularly Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, Multiple Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Peripheral Neuropathy, or if you have any members that have been diagnosed with these diseases, please have them contact our office right away at 1-877-762-4447.  There is a possibility that we may be able to file a lawsuit for them against the MANUFACTURERS of the chemicals.
