Elected Executive Board setting policy to guide the President’s decisions:

• Meets monthly.
• Actions are subject to review by members at the next General Union Meeting.
• Executive Board Members are elected by membership as a whole.

 President

• Elected by membership and guided by Executive Board.
• Supervises all paid union officers and staff.
• Responsible for all day to day decisions on contract negotiations, grievance handling, and organizing activities.

 Secretary-Treasurer

• Keeps and maintains accurate records of all proceedings.
• Keeps and maintains accurate accounts of member assets.

 Business Agent

• Negotiates contracts as directed by the President.
• Works with Shop Stewards to assist members with grievances.
• Helps members with other issues to improve wages, benefits and working conditions.

 Organizer

• Helps maintain standards established through the collective bargaining by helping workers in non-union shops get a union contract.
• Educates union members and people working in non-union shops about the importance of organizing.

 Shop Stewards and Chapel Chairs:

• The Union’s Representative on the shop floor.
• Elected by members employed at the shop he or she represents.
• Assists members with grievances and other work related issues.

 Office Staff

• Support and assist all officers and field staff in the execution of their jobs and responsibilities.
• Support and assist members with dues questions and union administered benefits (e.g. Pensions, Mortuary Benefits).
